our final treatment
Based on our concepts, votes and the pros and cons given, we have decided to do Latoya's concept 'Immersion". Although, we have made some changes which will make it easier for us when it comes to filming the trailer and creating the magazine and poster.
This is the final part of our development stage, therefore, we have used all of the information we have gathered from our research to develop our own idea: As shown below, we have discussed the many elements of our final treatment such as the characters and their roles, the themes, our inspirations and how they have influenced our idea, the synopsis, the target audience and props and what you will see in our trailer. We have also applied our trailer to theorist Torodov as we have followed their structure to develop the conventions of our trailer. We have also included our production team logo as this will be recognised by our target audience.

props
The props which we will be using are quite typical in terms of the genre of horror. The two images i have shown link in with Strauss' theory of binary opposition as a cross is often associated with religion and good, whereas, spell books are associated with evil and witchcraft. I think these props are essential when creating our horror movie trailer,

inspirations
|
|
Carrie and The Exorcist are the main inspirations of The Enthrallment. I have included the trailers above to show how they have been created as it is useful when creating our final trailer. These movies have been significant when coming up with our final idea as it has given us some conventions of the sub-genre of supernatural which we can then use in our trailer.
ThemeS
Good Vs. Evil is also a main theme of The Enthrallment due to the fact that Lily is into spells and witchcraft and she comes from a religious family. This is links with Levi Strauss' theory of Binary Opposition, therefore, this is a significant element of horror which is often used.
|
One of the main themes of our film is revenge. In the script, Lily's secret is exposed by her sister, then her mother punishes her and attempts to "save" her by calling the help of a local priest. Therefore, Lily takes out revenge.

what you will see in our trailer
Following Torodovs 3 act structure:
- In the equilibrium, Susan will be shown walking towards Lily's room with her cellphone, where a green light will be glowing from a gap underneath the door to show that Lily is using witchcraft. A close up shot of Susan's cellphone will show the back of Lily while she is using her spell book to cast a spell.
- In the disruption stage, there will be a numerous amount of quick cuts to add a dramatic and tense atmosphere. These quick cuts will show a birds eye view of the priest baptising Lily attempting to save her, the possession of the protagonists and close ups of the weapons in which they use to commit suicide.
- There wont be a resolution stage as this is onky a trailer and incuding this would give too much away of the movie.
